The first insurance brokerage in Yemen
We assess risk before arranging cover.
An independent adviser in insurance brokerage. We assess risk, review market options, and help you make informed insurance decisions — not simply choose an off-the-shelf quotation.
We believe a true broker does more than pass along a quotation — it helps clients make informed insurance decisions.
So we start by understanding your organisation and assessing the risks it faces, then review the available options, seek improved terms within available market conditions, and stay alongside you in managing the policy and supporting claims in line with its terms and conditions.

Frequently asked questions
Questions we are often asked before starting.
What is the difference between an insurance broker and an insurer?
A broker is an independent party that represents the client’s interests: it assesses the need, reviews the policies, compares options, coordinates with the market and provides support when a claim arises. The insurer is the party that underwrites the risk, issues the policy, determines the cover and decides the claim and indemnity. Thiqah’s role is advisory and organisational; the final insurance decision rests with the insurer.
Does Thiqah issue insurance policies?
No. Thiqah is an independent insurance broker; it does not issue policies or underwrite risk. The policy is issued by the insurer, which carries the resulting obligations. Our role is to understand your needs, organise the information, compare options, coordinate with the market and support you through renewals and claims — while the policy remains issued by the insurer and subject to its terms.
How do you begin reviewing an existing policy?
Send us a copy of the policy, its schedules and endorsements, along with a brief description of your business. We review the scope of coverage, exclusions, limits, deductibles and conditions, and clarify what is covered and where a gap or a point for improvement may exist before renewal. The review is advisory, and the policy terms can only be changed by the insurer.
What information is needed to arrange a new insurance programme?
We begin with a description of your activities, assets, operations and responsibilities, the values of property and stock, and any existing policy or prior claims record. From this we identify the priority risks and the need, then prepare the submission for the market. The clearer the information, the more precise the programme — and acceptance and terms remain subject to the insurer’s assessment and market availability.
Does Thiqah guarantee acceptance of cover or specific terms?
No. We do not guarantee acceptance of cover, specific terms or a pre-agreed price. We organise the information, compare options and negotiate to improve terms, subject to market availability and terms; acceptance, the scope of coverage, the limits and the deductibles are determined by the insurer based on its assessment of the risk and its final quotation. Our role is to clarify the options and help you make an informed decision.
How does Thiqah help with claims?
We support you from first notification: we review the incident and the policy, organise the file and supporting documents, coordinate enquiries and any required surveys with the insurer, follow the claim through the process, and keep you informed of developments and the decision. Our aim is a well-organised file, a lighter administrative burden and consistent follow-up. Acceptance of the claim and the indemnity remain a matter for the insurer, in line with the policy terms.
What is meant by reinsurance placement support?
Reinsurance is not a policy issued to your organisation; it is an arrangement that supports the insurer’s capacity to handle large or specialised risks. Where the size of the risk exceeds locally available capacity, we help prepare the information and coordinate with the insurer and the relevant markets. Your policy remains issued by the insurer, and the availability of capacity and terms is subject to market assessment.
Does Thiqah serve organisations across Yemen?
Yes. Thiqah Insurance Brokerage is an independent Yemeni firm based in Aden, serving organisations across Yemen. We provide insurance brokerage and reinsurance placement support, working with organisations across a range of sectors — from understanding the activity and the need through to arranging the programme, following it up and supporting claims.
